NEURODIVERSITY & COMPASSION

ADHD Coaching That Works With the Brain. Not Against It.
I help students who struggle with focus, organization, motivation, anxiety, and overwhelm build systems that actually make school manageable — and confidence that lasts far beyond grades.
Many of my students are bright, creative, and capable — yet feel constantly behind, frustrated, or misunderstood. They’ve been told to “try harder,” “focus more,” "just pay attention," or “get organized,” without being shown how.
My work is about changing that story. I meet students exactly where they are, understand how neurodivergent brains function, and build personalized strategies that reduce stress, increase independence, and restore confidence. Teaching them how to manage their superpowers for the future, because let's face it you don't "grow out of it."
How This Is Different
From Traditional Tutoring
This Is Not One-Size-Fits-All Tutorig
Neurodivergent coaching goes beyond homework help. While subject support is included, the core of my work focuses on executive function. The skills that make learning possible in the first place.
I work on HOW students learn,
not just what they're learning.
I Help Students Develop:
-
Planning, organization, and time-management systems that actually stick
-
Strategies for focus, task initiation, and follow-through
-
Tools and coping strategies to manage overwhelm, anxiety, anger, and shutdown
-
Study methods designed for ADHD brains (visual, hands-on, flexible, fun)
-
Self-advocacy skills and academic confidence
-
Emotional regulation ad resillence around school stress
Sessions are structured, supportive, and adaptive - not rigid or punitive. We build skills gradually, with compassion, consistency, and laughter.
Why My Approach Works
My background in neuroscience and biochemistry, combined with years of experience working with neurodivergent students, allows me to understand both the science and the lived experience of ADHD.
I don't rely on generic productivity hacks. I use evidence-based strategies that I test myself, real-world tools, and deep empathy to help students build sustainable habits - not temporary fixes.
I put into words all the feelings and emotions they're struggling with, because I myself have those same struggles. I learned to turn my ADHD into my superpower, and I want to educate and help as many kids, families, and people do the same.
This Coaching Is a Great Fit For Students Who...
-
Are bright but underperforming or inconsistent
-
Struggle with focus, procrastination, or task initiation
-
Feel overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down by school
-
Have ADHD, ADD, anxiety, or are twice exceptional 2E
-
Have fallen behind and lost confidence
-
Need structure without shame or pressure
Many of my students have tried traditional tutoring before - and didn't see lasting change. My approach is different.
What Sessions Look Like
Sessions are individualized and responsive. Depending on the student, we may:
-
Break work into manageable, achievable steps.
-
Use visual planners, time-blocking, assignment trackers, or body doubling
-
Build routines together rather than enforcing them
-
Practice study strategies in real time
-
Reflect on what worked and adjust when it didn't
-
Learn when our brains need a break and how to effectively do so
-
Work with whole families on how to optimize student support
Progress is not about perfection. It's about momentum, trust, and skill building over time.
My Philosophy
I believe neurodivergent students don't need to be fixed.
They need to be understood, supported, and given tools that honor how their brains work.
My goal is not just academic improvement - it's helping students feel capable, confident, and in control of their learning again. Remind them that there is nothign wrong with them, and in fact they are just operating at levels higher than most and just need to learn how to slow down for the rest of the world. I teach skills that extend far beyone school and into life.
